The Online Ringman program may be familiar to some of you as it is the same technology used by Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers, the largest industrial auction company in the world. Online Ringman is the technology that Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers use to conduct auctions around the world every. This system simply is the most reliable internet bid system used for Live Real time auctions in the world, and now with The Western Livestock Exchange - wlex.ca we bring the same reliable service and technology to the livestock industry.
How can The Western Livestock Exchange - WLEX.ca help your sale?

The Western Livestock Exchange - www.wlex.ca is capable of broadcasting to the world any sale or event over the internet in real-time. This allows access for any person who has a computer but is unable to make it to your event. This technology allows people to watch, listen, and bid just as if they were sitting in the stands in real-time.
How convenient is it to have a sale live online with The Western Livestock Exchange - WLEX.ca?

The process of having a sale live online is very simple. The staff from WLEX.ca will come and set up all the equipment required to broadcast an event. This will include a camera for the ring so that people can see the livestock as they enter and exit the ring. From the sale location there are only a few things that we require: a high speed internet connection and an audio feed from the PA system. WLEX.ca supplies everything else needed to broadcast your sale or event.

The system can be viewed at home from dial up, however, at the sale site we require a high speed connection to broadcast out on. The faster the connection the better the video experience will be at home. If you do not have high speed at your sale location please contact us and we can look at other possibilities to get your sale online.

We will work at every sale location differently selecting a perfect spot to set up our equipment. The best location if there is room, is directly beside the auctioneer, as this allows the auctioneer to view the computer and see exactly when the bids come in and also see who is bidding online. However in some cases if there is not enough room to be beside the auctioneer, we will require a table to set up in clear view of the auctioneer so we can clearly and easily turn the bids into the sale as they come in online.

Depending on the location of your sale, we also can provide a 50-inch monitor that shows the crowd what is happening online and how the system works for people at home. Please contact us to discuss your location and see if the 50-inch monitor is available for your sale day.
How does WLEX.ca work for viewers/ bidders at home?

We request that you apply for a bidder number up to 2 days prior to the sale, however we can approve people right up to sale time and during the sale if necessary.

Now that you have your username and password you are just about ready to head to the auction. You are required to download Online Ringman. For dial up users, you will still have audio so you can listen and follow along with the sale and have full bidding capabilities, however due to the slower connection you will mot be able to watch the live video. Why should I consider putting my sale online?

For every Purebred Livestock Producer your worst fear is your customer not being able to attend sale day. From that freak Winter or Spring snow storm, to that work commitment, or that cow that they are expecting to calve, with the Western livestock Exchange your customers can still be part of the sale with out physically being there. Encourage your customers to come to the farm and view the sale offering prior to the sale at their convince. Then if for some reason they are unable to attended sale day, they can simply log on to wlex.ca and Watch, Listen and bid live at the sale. We must realize that the livestock business is based on evaluating livestock and then determining what will work for your program. To do this, we strongly recommend that you, as a buyer on the wlex.ca, contact the livestock owners, sale management or sale staff prior to the sale to help you evaluate the livestock. This gives you a chance to discuss the animals and get a feel for what animals will work for your specific operation. Then with the power of wlex.ca you can bid just as you were in the seats at the sale.

With such a powerful tool as the internet, and with technology that allows your customer to be at home and bid on your livestock in Real-time, there is no better time to showcase your livestock to the world and allow them to share in your program.
